RuBot II eats Rubik Cube for breakfast

What the !@#$%?

you must be wondering what I mean already, so lemme brief you well in advance, we're talking of an AI Robot(Artificial Intelligence buddy, grow up) whose sole purpose of existence is to set new records in the time it takes for solving the famous Rubik's Cube . Yeah, we're talking of Robots solving the cube! Let's be frank about it how many of you ever solved a 3 x 3 Rubik's cube completely? Me for one never really made it though many times it felt I was mid-way through.
If your answer was 'NO' like me, maybe you too can learn the technique here

So coming back to the Robots,
the RuBot II looks very much like a distant cousin of the T-800 in the Terminator series. This scary looking robot is capable of solving the Rubik cube, a puzzle game that still confounds a large segment of the population with it's intricacies. The RuBot II uses cameras in its eyes to scan the cube for a few seconds before using its menacing pneumatic arms to carry out the instructions based on Herbert Kociemba's solving algorithm, courtesy of the Cube Explorer software. It normally takes an average of 20 moves to solve a problem, and will not pass a minute in time no matter how complicated the cube is. Watch RuBot II in action below.

Handsome Gal or Pretty Guy??

(Pic originally posted by Miss. Song Yia on her blog http://songyia.blogspot.com/)

Who's hotter? The Boy or the Girl?

“Don't you think he is so much hotter than I am; I am so envious of his body!” ~ Song Yia, the lady in the photo.

The guy in the photo (before he opted for undergoing the Sex Reassignment surgery that is, as scientifically he's not a guy anymore) is a model for the famed Alcazar Cabaret Show in Pattaya near Bangkok, where the whole ladyboy cabaret thing originated.

A Brochure of Alcazar Ladyboy Cabaret reads

Alcazar Cabaret Show in Pattaya

Tours start from THB 570

You haven't been to Pattaya if you miss the world-famous Alcazar Cabaret Show. One of Thailand's foremost ladyboy cabarets, Alcazar has been a true feast for the eyes for over 20 years. Prepare to be thrilled by 400 dazzling, talented artists and entertainers who will deliver fun-filled performances including comedic impersonations and dramatic numbers.

Price Includes:
  • Air conditioned vehicle with English-speaking guide.
  • Admission fee as mentioned on this program.
  • Transfer from/to hotel in Pattaya.
Popular ladyboy show
Great entertainment for all

Costing something between 500-600 Thai Bahts ( around $19-21) for a one hour show, it's worth every penny say 90% of the audience, the same who vouch that the Lady Boys are better-looking and hotter than most females. A suggestion for all those adults planning to go to Pattaya, don't miss Alcazar's.

A Movie worth the tears you withhold

Here comes my first movie review(there were others before but this one's solely mine) & I'm glad it's about a movie I'd love watching twenty years down the line; whatever I am, wherever I am. Anyway it's about "
The Pursuit of happYness (2006)" (if you think I dunno the spelling of Happiness, think again). For a kid who grew up watching Will Smith as an action hero in flicks like Independence Day, Men In Black, Wild Wild West, an eye-opener of a fact- Will Smith is more than an action hero. A few days ago I was reading where I don't remember that Tom Cruise is without doubt a Great star but would never make a good hero. I would've assumed the same of Will Smith, but thanks to POH my opinion has changed.

Coming to the plot, it's simple and straight-forwardly the real life story of Chris Gardner (a self-made millionaire, entrepreneur, motivational speaker and philanthropist). Most of the events in the movie are based on the real events in Gardner's life, let it be his acute poverty or his homelessness or his wife leaving him when he was broke. The pathos of the characters was masterfully projected on reel and the Director Gabriele Muccino deserves a round of standing ovation for that, including Will Smith of course, for him it's a “role-of-a-lifetime” portrayal. Screenplay by Steven Conrad is particularly heart-touching.

Director Gabriele Muccino makes the most of Steve Conrad's screenplay to give one of the most memorable films of all time, working around the predictability of a rags-to-riches narrative (a broke-to-broker story rather). Will Smith breathes life and spirit into the role, underplaying it with the right nuances, toning down the histrionics just a little to make it realistic. Watch him break down softly in the restroom, feeling helpless about letting his son sleep there, with people knocking the doors into the night. Simply fantastic! There are quite a number of frames when you have to hold back your tears(and I was constantly turning in Venki's direction to see if he shed any). Like for instance, when Will Smith and his son(though his wife leaves him, his son stays with him all through) had to take shelter for the night in an Underground Metro Restroom when for the first time Smith is shown crying( the second time however, is when he succeeds in his Pursuit of HappYness).

For the most part of the movie Smith is a businessman trying to sell Bone-Density scanner machines to customers, the investment of a venture into which goes all his life's savings. One day when standing outside a general hospital in San Francisco , he asks an impeccably-dressed Happy looking man in a Ferrari what he did for a living. The man replied that he was a stock broker . An intelligent man that he was, Gardner made up his mind that he would be a stock broker someday, and decided about that, he sets off to
Dean Witter Reynolds ( better known now as Morgan Stanley), a very famous stock brokerage firm in those days. They recruit wannabes for a 6-month internship for no pay or stipend during the period(in the real story it was a stipend of $1000 a month, which was scarce anyway) after which the best one out of 20 landed with the firm.

His lack of salary and failure to sell more scanners leaves him riddled with debt, he and his son eventually becomes homeless. After spending several nights riding buses and sleeping in subway restrooms, saddled with their meager belongings, they begin lining up at the Glide Memorial Church on a daily basis in an effort to secure accommodations for the night. Sometimes they succeed, other times they literally are left out in the cold.

As he struggles to provide a semblance of a family life for his son under the most dire of circumstances, Chris becomes more determined to complete the intern program and become the sole trainee the firm hires. He arrived at the office early and stayed late each day, persistently making calls to prospective clients with his goal being 200 calls/day. He would not drink water during office hours as it forced him to spend time in the loo. His perseverance paid off when, in 1982, Gardner passed his licensing exam on the first try and he came into the full employ of the firm.

As he comes out of the office six months later with his job offer in his hands he utters the partial phrase “This part of my Life is called ..........” but venki already had the answer....
HAPPYNESS.

Mr. Chris Gardner, who inspired the making of the movie

I regret not watching this movie before, don't give yourself a chance to regret later. Download and watch right away

Motley Fool's 12 Tenets of Value Stock Investing

#1. Rule No. 1: Don't lose money.
Rule No. 2: Don't forget Rule No. 1.

Don't be satisfied to let a few stocks in your portfolio lose a lot of money while one hits a home run.

#2. Be an investor, not a speculator. Too many investors jump on the momentum bandwagon and chase stocks just because the price is going up. Most believe they can get out before the stock price crashes — but very few do/can do!

#3. Price is what you pay; value is what you get. Valuation always matters. Learn how to value companies.

#4. Buy with a margin of safety. Estimates of value depend on a wide variety of inputs and are never hard and fast. Buying stocks at a significant discount to valuation estimates provides a margin of safety.

#
5. Stop trying to predict the direction of the market. Timing the market is a futile exercise that no one has consistently mastered. On the other hand if your investment thesis is right, the market will eventually come around.

#6. Patience is a key element of success. Don't chase a stock with a price above your margin of safety; wait for it to come down. Once you buy, wait for the market to realize a stock's value — weeks, months, or even years later.

#7. Never invest in a business you can't understand. The simpler the investment thesis, the better. Stay within your circle of competence.

#8. Invest for absolute returns. Beating the market index is a laudable aim, but there's no prize for breaking even when the market is down 5%. The aim is to increase portfolio value over the long term.

#9. Be fearful when others are greedy and greedy when others are fearful. Don't let the market psych you out of a good investment. Most investors swear off stocks when the market declines and greedily buy in when it's up. To be successful, be contrarian.

#10. Watch the business, not the stock. Checking quotes every day won't improve your chances of success. Instead, watch the business fundamentals and management's actions — those are the real drivers of value creation.

#11. Know when to sell. It's generally best to buy and hold for the long term, but you should sell if you have a better investment for your money, if your investment thesis was wrong, or if you simply need the cash.

#12. Have fun with investing. There are far more important things in life than investing, which is only a means to an end.

Tired of answering telemarketers?

Call centre/BPO calls? Insurance agents? Sales officers?

Ten ways to stop those annoying calls from irritating you:

1 After the telemarketer finishes speaking, ask him/her to marry you!!!

2 Tell the telemarketer you are busy at the moment, and ask him/her, if he/she will give you his/her home phone number so you can call him/her back.

3 Ask them to repeat everything they say, several times.

4 Tell them it is dinnertime, BUT ask if they would please hold. Put them on your speaker phone while you continue to eat at your leisure. Smack your food loudly and continue with your dinner conversation.

5 Tell them that all business goes through your agent, and hand the phone to your FIVE YEAR OLD child.

6 Tell them you have a problem with hearing and that they need to speak up.... louder... louder... louder!

7 If they start out with, "How are you today?", say "I'm so glad you asked, because no one these days seems to care, and I have all these problems blah blah blah"

8 Tell them to speak very slowly because you want to write every word down.

9 Cry out in surprise, "Helen, is that you? I've been hoping you'd call! How is the family?" When they insist they are not Helen, tell them to stop joking. This works especially fine if the telemarketer is MALE.

10 Tell the Citibank call centre guy to call on your office number - and give him the HSBC call centre number.

Ultrasonic Gun - A Weapon of the Future

SONIC DEVESTATOR

Forget the rubber bullets and water jets. The weapon of the future for controlling the mob will employ sounds. Or you may use it against the little monsters of the Halloween or an annoying neighbor.

The handheld sonic gun, called Sonic Devestator (yeah, you read the spelling right), uses high-frequency sound pulses to deliver a devastating blast of stunning damage to biological targets. This has the effect of disorienting or rendering the enemy unconscious without inflicting lethal damage. The ultrasonic waves are headed in a 45-degree cone from the "muzzle" which keeps the user unaffected. The sounds of the sonic weapon can take about a minute to subside, but they do not induce any permanent harm or damage.

The sonic gun also has a larger model, called
Sonic Devestator Riot Control, which combines six smaller units into a single one. "Our research has shown that by using these adjustment controls it is now possible to drastically increase the sonic output effect of the unit. It is possible to adjust the output for a maximizing effect on certain targets such as humans, dogs, unruly animals etc," explained the executives at Future Horizons. The powerful ultrasonic waves go much farther then normal sound waves and even pass through thick walls.

* How does it feel?
What you hear is a very loud and painful screeching sound, causing that kind of irritation like a person scratching his fingernails on a chalkboard. Only one added detail: imagine that made at an intensity of 130 decibels, the same as the sound emitted by lifting-off jet planes. Much more than that caused by a rock concert or a pneumatic hammer, which can be unbearable.

* Regarding the afflicted?
When the gear is properly tuned, it can induce intense nausea and headaches in the human victims, usually within less than 60 seconds of emission. In some cases, it can provoke intense pain and pressure on their eardrums.
The victim requires about one hour to recover.

* The range of the weapon?
The weapon is active in a range of 20 ft, but some sensitive individuals can be impacted at even 50 ft away. Dogs are even more sensitive than humans, as their auditory range goes higher.

* ...and the price?
Available at a not-so-high price of $300 for the ready to use model, it's definitely a must-have for the law enforcement agencies of all developing countries and riotous cities.(Go here to purchase)

* Any more such weapons out there?

These are hypothetical or conceptual weapons possibly in development:

  • The Vortex Ring Gun, a weapon that fires an acoustic air vortex that knocks people down.

  • Sonic bullets are being planned to be used in anti-hijack packs in planes.
  • A tight beam of focused sound used as a weapon like the focused light in laser guns.
  • A powerful ultrasound beam which can liquify living tissue.
  • A powerful low frequency sound designed to get buildings or structures to resonate and cause them to collapse.

Yahoo, Google, MySpace form nonprofit OpenSocial Foundation

It's like the Justice League of social media: Google, Yahoo, and News Corp.'s MySpace.com announced on Tuesday that they have formed the OpenSocial Foundation, a nonprofit group to support the OpenSocial initiative that Google kick-started last year to promote a universal standard for developer applications on social-networking sites.

The OpenSocial Foundation is expected to be formed within 90 days, with more OpenSocial partners from across the Web on board in addition to the three responsible for the announcement.

The specific purpose of the new nonprofit, according to a release, is "to ensure the neutrality and longevity of OpenSocial as an open, community-governed specification for building social applications across the Web." It's a particularly crucial move for Google, which has been eager to emphasize that OpenSocial is a community standard, not a Mountain View project.

"OpenSocial has been a community-driven specification from the beginning," Joe Kraus, Google's director of product management, said in a joint statement from the three companies. "The formation of this foundation will ensure that it remains so in perpetuity. Developers and websites should feel secure that OpenSocial will be forever free and open."

Indeed, the OpenSocial Foundation will be an independent entity with its own intellectual property and governance policies. Related assets are expected to be in place by the beginning of July.
Google first announced OpenSocial in October as a response to the plethora of announcements on behalf of social-networking sites that they would follow in Facebook's footsteps and create developer platforms of their own. With so many disparate developer strategies, the social-media landscape could grow even more fragmented, and Google launched the OpenSocial API (and later the Social Graph API) as a means to provide some connectivity. Major players like MySpace, LinkedIn, Bebo, and Plaxo, along with a host of smaller social networks and many that are unknown in the U.S., all opted to participate in the new initiative.

Some OpenSocial platforms, like foundation partner MySpace's, are already live. Others are still in testing phases or have yet to make any kind of debut. Despite delays, the OpenSocial developer community appears to be unfazed. The only major social network not to commit to OpenSocial in one way or another has been Facebook, the site that started the social-networking platform craze in the first place. And Facebook won't be joining the OpenSocial Foundation, either.

"As the largest contributor to the memecached system, Facebook has long been a leader and supporter of open source initiatives but will not join the foundation," a statement from the company read. "The company will continue to evaluate partnership opportunities that will benefit the 300,000 Facebook Platform developers while improving the Facebook user experience."
At the core of the new foundation will be the practice of upholding OpenSocial's tenets:

  • that specifications are available under a Creative Commons license,

  • that it's shaped by the developer community and social networks' user bases rather than corporate decisions,

  • and that it will be committed to the development of the new Shindig open source reference implementation, part of the Apache Software Foundation incubator.

With escalating rumours about how the interface would be based, some inside scoops revealed the following two pics:

Open standards like OpenSocial, OAuth, and OpenID have been some of the most heated subjects of discussion in the social-media developer community over the past year, nearly dominating the conversation at conventions like the Future of Web Apps conference in February. With some of the biggest names in technology now noticing and jumping on board these formerly grassroots projects, they've gained a newfound legitimacy--not to mention the financial backing of a Yahoo or a Google.
But in a conference call with press and analysts Tuesday, executives from Yahoo, Google, and MySpace asserted that the OpenSocial Foundation will be a standalone body to the point that Google will relinquish its trademark on "OpenSocial" and the ownership of the Web site. "This is just the next evolution in where OpenSocial needs to be heading, because it is a community-driven specification," Google's Joe Kraus said in the call.

The Top 10 Alternatives to Google Adsense

(Originally posted on http://www.rosswalker.co.uk/adsense_top10/)

Google AdSense is the current leader in content-sensitive web-based marketing. Webmasters can place Google AdSense JavaScript code on their web pages in order to allow Google's servers to show context sensitive advertisements (Google Adwords).
Google's terms and conditions are very strict such that many web publishers cannot use adsense adverts on their sites. They are either denied from joining the Google AdSense program, or in a situation that is becoming more and more common do not wish to do business with Google. A number of publishers are also finding their Adsense accounts are being disabled for reasons that are completely beyond their control. The problem is that most of the alternatives to Google's Adsense are pretty useless. Most of the good ones (such as doubleclick) are only interested in very large volume customers and so are not interested in the little guy with his blog who wants to earn a small income on the side. For this reason I have compiled my Top 10 alternatives to Google's Adsense that are ideal for the small time publisher.

Has your adsense account been disabled? Then try these top 10 alternatives.

  1. Clicksor
  2. Yahoo Publisher Network
  3. All Feeds
  4. Fast Click
  5. Veoda
  6. Bidvertiser
  7. Chitika
  8. Target Point
  9. Revenue Pilot
  10. ClickThruTraffic

1) Clicksor

Clicksor is easily the current leader of the small publisher Adsense competition. They have payouts upto a market leading 85% and unlike a number of alternatives the cost per click bid values are high enough that you can earn a decent income. They are also, in my experience, much more tollerant than Google. Their terms and conditions suggest that you should only place one copy of their code on a page but as long as you only place a single pop-up or DHTML code on a page they seem happy to let you place many context sensitive ad blocks on a single site.

Clicksor also has a big advantage over a number of the lower ranked alternatives on this site in that their ads are truly context sensitive. Thus while you can provide keywords they have technology that will also show ads targeted to the content of your site. This means your visitors are exposed to ads of the same subject as they were searching for when they reached your site and thus vastly increases the click thru ratio and thus your sites earning potential. The context sensitive nature also saves you the hassle of having to specify keywords for all of your sites and decide in advance what people might be looking for.

2) Yahoo Publisher Network

Yahoo are currently playing catch up to Google and are trying to release their own context sensitive advertising service. This promises to be an excellent alternative to Google Adsense but in reality is likely to be a simple copy with the same restrictive terms and conditions as Google, including $100 minimums on payouts. At present the system is still in beta test and while you can visit their site and sign up to register your interest it appears at present that they are not accepting new advertisers. In fact most applicants won't even receive a reply. Thus until it goes live and it becomes clear what type of website owners Yahoo will be targetting I can only place it in second place.

Advert wise Yahoo Publisher Network will feature:

  • Display ads related to the content on your site. You'll earn revenue from qualified clicks.
  • Integrate other Yahoo! services into your web site, including Add to My Yahoo! (RSS), Y!Q and much more to come...
  • This beta program is just the beginning. Our mission is to deliver products and services based on the needs of the publishing community.

3) AllFeeds

Allfeeds is another alternative to Google Adsense particularly targetted to smaller publishers. They offer a huge selection of advertsing options including:

  • Text Links
  • Search Boxes
  • DHTML Popups
  • Buttons
  • Banners
  • XML Feeds

The payouts are not as good as Clicksor and Yahoo but if you have relevant keywords can be fairly good. The only real problem is that you have to get each individual page approved and provide a set of keywords for each page. This can be real time consuming and makes it difficult to accurately target your website's audience.

4) FastClick

At first look FastClick would appear to be one of the better alternatives to Google's Adsense however, they are one of many online advertising companies that tend to favor the large customers. You'd think companies would have learnt from Google's success and accepted that the way to make money is to target both large and small. Remember Excite? They went the way of the dodo because they only targeted the top 100 companies rather than the small guys who can't afford large TV adverts and have to advertise on the Internet instead. Anyway, I digress. If you can get yourself accepted to FastClick (now called ValueClick) then you will probably be able to run some reasonably high paying adverts on your site but most small website owners will find that FastClick simply aren't interested.

Advertising wise FastClick (ValueClick) off an industry-average 65-percent monthly payout on all advertising revenue your website generates. Fastclick pays by the 25th of the month for the previous month by check or PayPal.

5) Veoda

Veoda can be a useful alternative for small website owners since they don't require any minimum page views per month. They pay 60% of the revenues generated per click to you and upto 90% if your site has a high traffic rate. They payout at only $25.00 and unlike Google and Yahoo do not require any tax information making it ideal for small website owners who don't want to have to deal with registering their website as a small business. Something they would have to do if they earnt money through Google or Yahoo where social security numbers are required. The range of advertizers is sadly lacking but Veoda does have an intriguing range of different advert format options including:

  • Static Listings
  • Context Sensitive Ads
  • Text and Graphical Ads
  • Flash Ads
  • Animated Scrolling Ads
  • Flash Listings professional animated scrolling ads
  • Search boxes
  • Fly in Ads
  • Xml Feeds Data feed for external parsing
Click here to sign up for Veoda and try it out on your site today. There is no obligation, it is completely free and you can cancel at any time.

6) Bidvertiser

Bidvertiser can be a useful alternative to Google and offer some intriguing ad formats including what they refer to as free design. This lets you specify the look and dimensions of your text ads. While a useful feature I have not investigated how well it works but imagine that while it sounds good on paper it could result in lower priced ads being displayed. I.e. most advertisers will probably want to keep control of the layout of their ads and so turn off support for Free design ads.

Bidvertizer pays you either in $50.00 increments by check or $10.00 increments by PayPal.

Customize the layout of your ads: BidVertiser gives you a simple point-and-click tool to help you customize the layout of the ads to fit your site's look and feel, in order to retain the high quality of your website. Bidvertizer also offers the opportunity to block unwanted ads. The reports provided by Bidvertiser are adequate but not outstanding. The only real problem is that they can be picky with who they accept into their program and can be quick to ban users whose websites show what may be perfectly valid fluctuating visitor behaviour.

7) Chitika

Chitika takes a different approach to internet advertizing. Instead of displaying the 'industry standard' advert boxes with text and image ads that all look the same they instead provide active boxes that show targeted products from different manufacturers. If you run a blog for example and discuss a product you may find the chitika box showing links for this product and competitors products. If people purchase these products you get a paid a commission. This is refered to as impulse marketing in the form of eMinimalls. Feel free to give it a try although I think the ideal use of this service would be as a compliment to another advertizers service. E.g. you could show Clicksor context sensitive ads on your site and then compliment these with Chitika's eMinimalls.

8) TargetPoint

Targetpoints services are particularly publisher-oriented, you have absolute control over the appearance of your ads. They provide supervision over ad content. The payouts tend to be reasonable but they can be quite choosey regarding which sites are accepted.

Advert wise Target Point provide:

  • Adpoint generates content-relevant, revenue-evaluated ads.
  • Exitpoint helps utilizing the full capacity web exit traffic.
  • Imagepoint serves visual ads. Known to the rest of the world as Image ads.
  • Underpoint serves pop-under ad windows.
  • Searchpoint (beta) features enhanced search capabilities, which enhance your users experience and generate additional profit.

Registration is free and they pay back a minimum of 60% of the total on-click revenue. Payment options include Bank checks, PayPal and Wire transfers (if eligible).

9) Revenue Pilot

RevenuePilot would appear to be a very good ad server alternative although I would be careful to take most of their claims at face value. They claim to offer the Industry's highest bid prices and largest payouts with CPC of $2.00 or more. I find these claims very hard to believe. Indeed why would an advertiser be interested in advertising with a client that essentially claims to be ripping them off. Either way the claims may be true in which case this could be a very lucrative advertising system for your website. Feel free to try it and make up your own mind.

10) ClickThruTraffic

Not the best alternative but if you can't get accepted by any of the above you can always try these guys. They claim that you will earn between 6 and 20 cents everytime a surfer clicks on an advertisement on your site but in reality I think you are more likely to see rates around the 0.5c to 2c range. However, feel free to try it out and see how you get on. Advert wise they offer text links, buttons and banners.

Alternatives to AdSense

AdSense-Alternatives

Google AdSense is the most popular solution for Webmasters looking to make money by displaying advertising on their website. Go to Google AdSense

However, there are two reasons why you need to know of other Ad Networks:

1. To replace AdSense PSAs with other Ad Network ads - Ad Alternates (which is allowed by AdSense), and

2. To find an alternative to AdSense as your tier one Ad Network.

AdSense Alternatives

Looking for an alternative to Googles AdSense?

Been rejected by or have rejected Google AdSense?

Been shattered by invalid clicks?

Revenues dropping?

See the list below for an alternative.

AdSense Alternates – show ads from other ad networks instead of PSAs

Ad Alternates are advertisements that you can display on your website in place of PSAs.

You can use this facility to display ads from other ad networks. How to set up AdSense Alternate Ads

Improving CPM in a New Media Era

There are CPM alternatives to the pay-per-click model that can offer video content publishers better monetization than Adsense. These impression based publishing networks have often been around for many years, while some are new to the field and thus have less stringent traffic requirements. While the CPM amount that can be earned varies depending on the niche and number of unique visitors/pageviews per month, for new media publishers this amount is often higher than Adsense revenue.

The following publishers are ordered by their traffic requirements, in parentheses.

AdsDaq (no requirement) - While they only provide CPM ads to specific countries, their ability to display backup ads from any network makes them an easy first choice for somebody looking to test the waters of the CPM market.

Ad Dynamix - (no requirement) - While not quite as intuitive as AdsDaq, their minimal requirements make Ad Dynamix quite approachable even though their customer support is poor.

ValueClick (3,000 pageviews per month) - While their pageview requirements are quite low, ValueClick is known to be picky with the type of site they will approve.

Morning Falls (10,000 pageviews per month) - A relatively low traffic requirement, solid customer service, simple implementation and easy to understand reports make this a good CPM publisher for beginners.

CPX Interactive (10,000 pageviews per month) - A relatively new face on the advertising scene, CPX Interactive offers good integration and solid reporting. Meeting the traffic requirements is not always good enough, however, as their internal approval process is on the strict side.

Burst Media (20,000 pageviews per month) - Burst Media is an intermediate advertising publisher. Their overly-complicated integration and reports, as well as their poor customer service hold them back from the upper echelon of advertising networks.

Casale Media (10,000 unique visitors per month) - A good intermediate ad publisher, perfect for an established site that has not quite reached A-List status just yet. Casale Media handles larger sites as well, making them a good long-term choice for many sites.

Tribal Fusion (60,000 unique visitors per month) - A solid pay scale, depending on your niche. Tribal Fusion represents hundreds of sites with a wide range of categories.

Brightroll (100,000 video views and 250,000 pageviews per month) - Along with Video Egg, Brightroll is the only other advertising publisher on this list that is truly centered on new media. Their video view requirement automatically puts them in the advanced category.

Adtegrity (500,000 pageviews per month) - While their orange and green color scheme may make you scratch your head, Adtegrity is known for their quality customer service and is quickly becoming a leader in the advertising network field.

Advertising.com (2 million pageviews per month) - One of the heavy hitters of online ad publishing, their high pageview entry point means only well-established sites need apply.

Video Egg (10 million video views per month) - The cream of the new media crop, Video Egg concentrates entirely on advertising in online videos.

Conclusion

Once a new media site has obtained a solid audience a close examination will reveal that Adsense simply doesn’t have as much clout as it should. As your site grows, consider other advertising methods and networks. Your bottom line will appreciate your efforts.

Are you smarter than a 10-year old?

I found this in my mail box this morning:

Which way is the school bus traveling ?

Right or left ?

You don’t see the difference?

Look carefully at the picture if you are having a hard time.

This picture was shown to Preschoolers and they were asked which direction the school bus was traveling and 90% said that “the bus was traveling to the left”

When asked how they got that answer, they said:

“The bus had to be traveling to the left because the door was not seen”.

Now how do you feel?

I know, me too!!
